Stephen8986
Hi all been a while since my last post, been busy getting through all the processes of this emigration. There is now light at the end of the tunnel as any day now i expect to be told to officially apply for our visas. So excited. Has anyone just been granted their visa recently and can tell me how long they waited for it? My emigration agent says they are taking about 5-6 weeks at the moment. Just wondered if anyone has waited longer???
Claudette
Hi Stephen8986 - what visa is it you are applying for? We too are at the waiting state, we are (well my partner is) applying for a 190 state sponsorship. We have already received our invitation to apply from the EOI and are now waiting for the state nomination form to be emailed to sign and return which should be any day now! What agent are you using? We too are using an agent. Fingers crossed and good luck to you!

We are using Overseas Emigration based in Edinburgh but me and my girlfriend are from Glasgow, what about you?
flatpack
Seems that getting a CO is taking 5 weeks and then grants 2-3 weeks after that from other peoples time scales on here. We're at the 2-3 week stage, well 2 weeks into the 2-3 week stage.
Claudette
Hi Stephen8986 My partner is also going for the 190. We're just waiting for the state nomination form to sign and submit back so we can submit our application. Is the email you are waiting for for the state nomination like us or the EOI? We're using immi2oz - John Adams who was recommended to us. flatpack - It does seem like it is a quick process! Hope you get your decision any day now! We're a little bit behind you..... Your footer says SS received 5/08/13 - Is that the form that i'm waiting for now?? I'm so confused as everyone calls it something else! Yes I think so, I was on holiday so I got my father in-law to print it for me and he then drove 100 miles to us so I could sign it, then he drove back and scanned it for us. He must really want shut of us LOL
Claudette
Ha ha! What a lovely thing to do - I think my family would delete it and deny all knowledge! Hopefully, if our timescale is anything like yours, we should receive it any day now!

We we have made our EOI, they've came back and told us everything's good to go. So now we are just waiting on to be invited to apply for our Visas. They said it normally takes 1-2 weeks for them to come back, it's been about 10 days roughly so any day now we will be applying and hopefully in about 5 weeks time it will be the medicals and police checks . We started the process in April and are surprised but happy also that it has went so fast. We're looking to move roughly in the spring time
Claudette
Hi Stephen, I noticed on the Department for Immigration twitter feed that the next skillselect date for invitations to apply is 7th Oct so Monday. Fingers crossed for you. After that, it's a really quick process. I think we are one step in front of you. We have just received our state nomination this morning so we need to sign that and send it back and then we can put in our visa application. Claudette
Actually, that's a lie - it was on the visa and permits Twitter account. @VisasandPermits "Submit your EOI as soon as possible as the next invitation round in #SkillSelect is on 7 October: http://ow.ly/pn7cb #Australia"
Claudette
Hi Stephen How are you getting on? Any news yet?
Joeybee
I submitted the visa application (189) on 21st September, from what people on here are saying, it looks like 5 ish weeks for a CO to be assigned and then the grant within a month of that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this means I'll have a CO soon. Done everything I need, apart from the police checks, which I'm going to get sorted this week. Good luck, hope you hear something soon.
