Aside from the obvious family and friends I don't miss a great deal. I agree that Christmas is not the same here, the day itself is a bit flatter with no family around but also the run up just is not the same, a works Christmas party just seems to be a once a year "thing" that has little meaning, I think ours was on October 24th Last year. Also I felt like we missed out on a few big national events, the Royal Wedding, the Jubilee, the Olympics all looked like they were great fun in the UK and I was sorry to miss out.

I have to say I'm quite glad we got to see a lot of those events.

The Tour de France goes past my parents front door next year and we'll miss that which is a real shame :0(

These are common breakfast dishes we have in Bangalore :)

I miss going to football on a Saturday afternoon. Not so much the game, but the meeting of mates for a couple of beers before and after the game and the socializing part of the day. Tried to do it at the Perth Glory games, but not got the same effect.

I also miss daylight saving hours in Perth, but that's another discussion for another day!

Oooooo, is winter wonderland good? Taking the kids to London for a weekend before we leave the UK is on our 'to do' list and I was thinking that maybe we should do it while winter wonderland is on; sightseeing one day and Hyde park the next, it looks quite magical and would be something the kids would definitely remember.

It's great - the kids will love it! :jiggy:

There are loads of "arty" stalls, places to eat, funfairs (me and OH ended up in the funhouse last year and we don't even have kids!), skating, & Gluhwein and German beer for the adults. I think there was a place where the kids could meet Santa as well. The atomshere is just really nice and wintery/Christmassy.

They have a facebook page, and probably a website, so it's worth having a look. It looks like it's going to be bigger this year as well, certainly the pictures of the rides look bigger. I think it starts on the 22nd Nov.

Its free to enter but then obviously you have to pay for the rides and attractions, and the Gluhwein!
