Candygirl
Thanks Peanuts. Our friends have invited us to join them in Freo this weekend. We did not realise that there was a festival going on. Even better.

Lou8670
Ooh! Ooh! We're staying in Freo this weekend as we're at a wedding today in kings park followed by dinner at the Red Herring in East Freo. We're staying over nearby. Didn't realise there was something in tomorrow in Freo.

Lou8670
Anyone fancy meeting up there tomorrow? We're on a reccie and I'm struggling a bit with knowing whether this is is the right move for our family (we are divided at the mo) and would love to hear about others experiences first hand - Porty, Candygirl? Lou x We could get a PP posse together? I'm not entirely sure what we'll be doing and when as today has just been officially declared a 'Do Nothing' day and I'm into my second tall-ee. Mrs p and I have a ton of work to do for the Freo Festival on the 10th and we've tennis first thing tomorrow so we're not really making plans. We might take a rug and 'base camp' in the Esplanade park if it's sunny or next to Kidogo and nip in and out as we choose. We're likely not to be there until the afternoon and I doubt we'll last to the main foreword display but if there's a gathering we'll drop in and say hi and happy to share our experiences but you'll likely not get a balanced view from me as I love it so much. Lou8670
Just got in from our wedding in Kings Park and Red Herring. Had a fantastic day and evening. Everyone so polite and friendly. Kids had an amazing time and my daughter ecstatic at being a flower girl. Everyone at the wedding was trying to persuade us to move down here and couldn't be more accommodating with offers of help; something I have really noticed here so how friendly and helpful everyone has been. We are planning to meet a friend in Cottesloe tomorrow but not sure what time but will pm with my Aussie mobile so if it's possible to catch up ( even for 1/2 hour) we can phone or text). Would be lovely; after all, so near but been so far xxxx

Went to Red herring for my birthday too a couple of years ago, lovely setting on the river! Hope you enjoyed it! fifi69
Didnt go to the festival...but we all watched the fireworks from the from of our house.....they could be seen for miles
Lou8670
Made me laugh that they cordoned off a whole area whilst setting up the fireworks with signs saying "Danger Explosives" but the cordon enclosed the kids play area however the entrance to the area wasn't cordoned off. I thought they were planning to blow up a few hundred kids
