Busy Lizzy
Hi, I would really appreciate your thoughts as to whether you get more mosquitoes if your house has a swimming pool. I know you get mosquitoes around stagnant water, but Swimming pools are treated and pumped and generally no stagnant, so I wondered what everyone has found from their experience. Redsquare
I'm no expert but a quick search of the internet says that it shouldn't. If either a chlorinated or salt water pool are well maintained, mosquito larvae shouldn't be a problem.

fifi69
No a pool IMO makes no difference. We have a pool but don't see any difference in quantity of mozzies to non pool friends. What I have found is some suburbs are def worse than others....I know anyone can get Ross River Disease, but there has been and still is estates being built in areas known for being bad for it. Ross River Disease is on the up this year (according to news reports) partly due to the unusual weather we have had this spring. In all honesty, I don't find the mozzies where we live that bad...not as bad as some of the European holiday places I've been. Last year there was only one night during the hot weather that we couldn't sit out because of them.
