Hi VGINOZ,

I'm not female so can't really help you with the girl friends thing, but I have been living in Shoalwater for about 6 months, so if you need any help with local services, places to go etc, just holler. I know how hard it can be moving to a new area where you don't know anyone!

cheers

Mike

Erm...no. It's very quiet! There is the George & Dragon pub at Shoalwater shopping centre on Safety Bay Rd, which is ok but just a local boozer. You'll stand out by wearing shoes and anything that isn't hi-vis. If it's quality nightlife you are after, the Safety Bay area ain't the place :-)

There are a couple of good cafes though. The Bodrum Bay Turkish cafe facing Safety Bay shopping centre does good breakfasts, including an excellent spicy Turkish brekky that is pretty addictive. Also, the Boat Ramp cafe on Safety Bay Rd does good breakfasts and coffee, and it is right facing the ocean. Zocalo Mexican restaurant a couple of doors up from Bodrum Bay cafe does very good TexMex food, but it's a bit lacking in atmosphere.

Rocko has a couple of decent restaurants on the strip facing the beach, but even the nightlife in Rocko is nothing to write home about. Unless you want to head to Zelda's :-)

HI vginoz,

I saw your message and thought I would give you a quick message. I am not actually from England but lived there and did all my high schooling there many years ago. I live in Safety Bay and my partner is also FiFo so I understand where you are coming from. I do work also. It can be difficult to meet people, I have friends through work but none live near me. Like you said, sharing a coffee or even a wine would be good..

Thanks for your response. I was pretty excited to see that you are 43, I am a young 51. Was a bit concerned you would be a 22 yr old. Not that I have anything against 22 yr olds, I was one once, but maybe not so much in common!

I work 5 days a week but my hours change all the time and some days finish early, some start late so we can work something out for sure.

I too have a son however he lives over east. I also have a few dogs, a cat, too many birds and fish....as you can see I too need some people company!!!

So how do we organise a meet up? Not sure where you are?

Looking forward to your response.....

Hi,

My wife has asked me to reply to this thread as she will be looking to meet new friends when we arrive in Perth on 1st January. We are initially staying in Rockingham and we are both 43.

She is a very sociable person and can't wait to meet some new friends.

Let me know if you'd like her contact details

Chris
