jo and scott
Hi, we have a loan to pay off and are assuming it needs to be paid off before we move to perth. Does anyone know if this is the case or can we move anyway but just making sure money is in the bank to cover it each month. Thanks !! alison13
Hi i've got an outstanding credit card on 0 % so I don't want to pay it off yet. My direct debit payment comes out my uk account every month and this works fine. We came to oz on a 189 visa and our financial situation has never been questioned. hope this helps Alison

poxonfamily
Hi, we have a loan to pay off and are assuming it needs to be paid off before we move to perth. Does anyone know if this is the case or can we move anyway but just making sure money is in the bank to cover it each month. Thanks !! We went to Australia on a 457 a few years ago with both a student loan and a regular loan ongoing and just made sure there was money to cover the payments in our UK account..... nothing had to be declared in Australia as far as I remember and the loan companies were happy as long as the payments were being made! lozzachino
Agree with above. We left a loan in the uk, with money to cover payments. Within three months of starting work we have just sent home enough to pay it off. Would have taken us at least a year to do in the uk if we had saved every penny. Here we still have spending money and have been able to save to pay the loan off.
Judilc
We have lived out of the uk for 4 years with financial ties there and always just send money back each month to cover the payments. No questions were asked of us when we got our visas.
Chardy
Your UK credit agreements have nothing to do with your visa or future Aussie credit. There is no link between countries for consumer credit but for civil debt like HMRC and council tax it's a different matter.
CookieCrumble
We left two student loans and two personal loans behind when we left, as long as you make payments no one is going to care where you are. Paid off one student loan and one personal loan, can't wait for the other two to go now, so annoying with the exchange rate shifting making payments more expensive!
