ali
I think the majority have had more success actually being here to be honest and face to face contacts.
verystormy
It is VERY hard to get a job before arriving. Most people simply have to bite the bullet and move.
Chardy
Not ideal but ditto the above !
portlaunay
Why not come for a visit? I know it is expensive but it would be a lot cheaper than relocating lock stock only to find there's no work.
StraighttothePoint
Unless you know somebody who is here now, and who will put in writing a guaranteed job, then the chances are, well.... slim to slimmer to pretty much nil. Brickies are here and so employers do not need to look too far to get them when needed. Also many brickies here are self employed and so you have to be here, with all the business stuff in place, to be able to approach face to face for work that way. I guess as VS says, it's bite the bullet time.....
Guest Stephenjb1986
Yeah i thought this would be the case, it usually is in my trade! Thanks for your thoughts
taylors4
Don't get disheartened though, there are lots of jobs here at the moment. You do have to be here though. Pretty sure bricklayer is now off the list too, goodness knows why. There are lots of folk waiting for their houses to be started as they can't get the brickies. Good luck. cki2011
Hi all i have just been granted a subclass 190 visa and i am still currently in the uk because ideally i would Like a job to come out to! In the uk i work as a bricklayer/,general builder and just wondered what the best way about getting a job lined up before i get to perth? thanks I was looking around the show homes last weekend and the sales guy was telling me they have loads of houses to build but are really short of brick layers at the moment.... If I was in your shoes I would come over by yourself and get a job so you are earning $ for when your family come out....

There is plenty of work at the minute. Bricklayers have no trouble finding work right now.
