So we arrive at Easter! Watched our container leave yesterday with much excitement! Really real now. So how about a day towards the end of Easter...in the hope that we'll be organised enough to be able to join you all. My ideas for settling down are now down to Willeton, Ellenbrook & Baldivis. I know, huge variation but it's so hard to tell from the internet! Staying down in Waikiki for Easter & would love to have plans to meet people who've done this recently. Anyone willing to set a date?

Love to but although we leave here 14 April we don't set foot in Australia until 13 May!

Hi Mjwest, how's your 18 year old getting on, are they at school, working etc? My 18 year old son will be coming with us later in the year and I'm trying to imagine what it will be like for him as he won't be at school but we're going to look into Tafe courses. Good to hear you're all settling in and enjoying it x

Hi frosties.... My 18 year old is doing great and settled in really well, she was the one I was most worried about, she is very quiet but started tafe 3 weeks ago and is loving it, she has made two or three really good friends from day one there and this week has managed to get herself a little weekend job at hungry jacks, so I am sure she will meets lots more friends there. All in all very good. The only one of mine that found it a bit more difficult is my 16 year old, he is very confident and wasn't worried about making friends, he has had to go back to school to do year 12 whereas he had finished school in the UK. But when he got there I think he thought everyone would chat to him but it wasn't like that, the first week or so not many people spoke to him and we had a few wobbly moments, where he pointed out that he had so many friends in the UK!!! But 3 weeks in and things are much brighter for him too. I think you son will be fine either working or at tafe, mine all got a bit bored in the first few weeks as we arrived during school holidays but now they are meeting people it is all good.

Thats really good to hear, I hope my son has the same positive experience. He'll probably have to wait until next year for Tafe but hopefully he'll get work to keep him busy :-)

Well guys we're approaching May and it was fascinating re-reading this thread! So many of us are here now and some are en route/due to leave very soon!:jiggy:

How's everyone settling in? Or feeling as those last few weeks disappear?

There was some talk early-ish in the thread about arranging a July meet up and I wondered if people were still up for it. We could use it as a practice run for October when we have Bean's meet up!

It makes me even more eager to get out there reading how everyone is getting on and beginning to settle. It's nice to know that everyone seems so happy and that all the hard work was worth it too. I'm dreading saying goodbye to the old dears in 4 weeks, but other than that I'm raring to go and get our adventure started. Me and Rick are around in July if a meet up happens then

My family and I, wife & 3 girls (16, 5 & 2), arrive July 3rd. Staying at Innaloo in 6 wk holiday rental; hoping to settle inner NOR. Everyone's really excited - 9 weeks left ... :)

Hi David

We also have girls aged 5 and 2 and hoping to settle NOR around Carine/Duncraig area. We are arriving in 2 weeks. If you and your wife are interested in meeting up after you arrive just send me a message. We too are extremely excited - cant wait to get there now!

Nothing as yet. A few of us are interested but just need to start thinking dates I guess.

What days of the week/weekend are good for people?
