We're in a superb 4 x 2 in Baldivis but my wife has just landed a job at Hale School in Wembley Downs so we'll have to shift NOR before the lease is up next April. portlaunay Posted November 28, 2013 Report Share Posted November 28, 2013 I think you can advertise it as a break lease and, providing the prospective tenants pass all the necessary checks they take over on an agreed date. ali Posted November 28, 2013 Report Share Posted November 28, 2013 You can break the lease, but would be responsible for the rent and paying for any advertising until new tenants were found. At Porty says, you can advertise the lease break on here and also on PIO, and if the people interested pass the checks are deemed suitable then you won't have anything to pay. Not sure if it was the relationship the tenant had with the agent, but the rent was still rated at the previous tenants rates until next February (when her lease run out) then an increase in rent would happen at that point.
