Posted December 2, 2013 Report Share Posted December 2, 2013 I come across many elderly people who emigrated 40,50 or 70 years plus, most haven't lost their accent if they arrived as an adult. I am always amazed at how long it takes to loose a scottish accent though, met people who have been here 30/40 years and still sound very broad, nowt wrong with that mind!
