jonleannejack
Hi all, We have been here almost a year now, came on a 176 s.s. Someone mentioned the other day that we were supposed to register our arrival at an office in the city. Is this correct ?
jamesw
Your arrival would have been registered when you arrived at immigration at the airport
SJT
We came over on a 176 skilled we had to notify some office as we were state sponsored and have to stay in wa for 2 years and then can live anywhere in Australia (not that we are going anywhere as we love it here) we had to give our long term address and every time we move we have to give our new address details. Im out at the moment when I get home I will post the email address we had to send the details to.

Give me a break!
Honestly I know no one who has done this either. You are registered with Medicare the ATO and the WA government driving license office. They have our email address too and have never contacted us. So what do you all reckon, don't bother. It's not as if I want to go anywhere else in any case.
SJT
It depends on you really. I am a real worry wort and the stipulation of our SS was to notify them direct of when we got here and if ever we moved address during those two years. It was a two minute email. But if you don''t worry (like my husband, as he said it they argued we could prove we lived here, so I sent the email on his behalf), then just get on and ignore it. We also got a reply back thanking us and also advising that our registration was now complete with their office. I panic if not every dot and T is crossed, maybe that's why I'm very grey. Catalyst2012
True, we are obviously registered with all. So what do you all reckon, don't bother. It's not as if I want to go anywhere else in any case. I went over to their office on Murray Street when I arrived in Perth last April, and all they wanted to see was my passport and proof of residential address. I was done in about 10 minutes and was told that I would receive surveys every 6 months, and that I should notify them of any address change. Been about 19 months now and I've not received a single survey. Also came across a post on Pomsinoz where someone gave them a call upon arrival and apparently they were told "Don't worry about it. Now that you're here, just get on with it". But yeah for your own peace of mind, it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and check if you still need to complete any formalities.
