Criminal Record

Hi All

Me and my partner are now just waiting on our police checks to come through after having confirmation on passing our medicals. I am looking for some reassurance about these police checks off anyone. Me or my partner have never been in bother with the police in our lives apart from the odd run in with traffic police (Who hasnt!?) up until this year. Unfortunately at the start of the year I got myself caught up in a silly incident which led to me spending the night in jail for the first time in my life. However I was never taken to court or anything like that and about a month later i got a letter for a £50 fine which I paid. So this avoided me getting a criminal record and now here we are, weeks away from getting a visa and after just having got my redundancy approved in work for new year we are looking to be in perth in February. So does anyone think I should be concerned about this or am I worrying over nothing? All replys welcome

Did you receive a caution? If I remember it asks about convictions and cautions. Honestly though from what I've been told you are supposed to be honest if asked about everything so if asked you should mention it. For the record I know lots of people including myself who never had a run in with traffic cops :swoon: The youth of today! :biglaugh:

I'm sure you'll be fine, I have 2 convictions from 20 yrs ago. One for breaking a window and one for swearing on public transport. They are spent convictions that didn't show on my police check, I also have a caution from 8 years ago for a very trivial matter. I declared all three and it wasn't an issue, my C/O never referred to them and we were granted our visas!

Good Luck
