Is anyone else finding it really difficult to decide on what to do on New Years Eve?

We would like to go out and do something, but we don't want to spend a fortune or hours waiting on a taxi.

I've even tried to find a local restaurant in Yokine that we could go to and then finish off with drinks at home but most seem to be closed.

Is it just me?

Free live music in Northbridge with different styles of singers / bands could be good, was told about that last night. Then you could get home for the bells and have a few drinks at home. Bite to eat beforehand in the city would not be that expensive if you chose the right place.

Me? Mr and Mrs boring will be fast asleep by ten with a bit of luck!! My wife has to work on NYE and NYD and so it will be a usual up at 6.00am for us both on both days.

NYE doesn't really happen in Perth, it's not just you! They celebrate Australia Day instead - in fact I heard on the radio the "countdown to Skyworks" and thought, hang on, don't we have Christmas and NYE first?!

They don't even show you the Sydney fireworks until midnight to somehow pretend that they our "our" fireworks as well. Was most unimpressed our first year here that my family in the UK could watch the fireworks yet I had to wait another 3 hours.

Last year we went to Sydney to watch them, this year we'll be in Melbourne watching theirs.

we did Northbridge last year, it was great, just so damn hot, absolutely everything going on with a huge variety of people kids OAP,s etc, lots of street entertainment etc, we managed to get tickets for the roof top movies party, that was unusual.

its well worth doing, once anyway.
