sagar
I also did my EOI on 17/12/2013 for the Welfare Worker route which is on Schedule 2. I`m still waiting to hear from them. Has anyone heard anything yet? I rang WA on Friday and they told me that the next round would be on Thursday 16/01/2014 Welcome to the community and hope our welfare happens soon lol

kmchu
Hi everyone, i'm back. by a partner's introduction and through tthe telephone interview I successfully received an offer letter from an employer. I have sent the offer letter to WA but it still didn't help! the officer replied just as simple as what I received before: "invitations are issued on weekly basis..." I have waited for 5 weeks. I'm so anxious now. What happens in WA???

Soha
Thanks Stormy, but there are a lot of restrictions in applying for jobs while you are OUTSIDE australia !! such as an australian address and visa type . Please if you know any solutions for this case ? thanks
verystormy
If you want a visa that requires a job offer then that is all you can do. Some employers will make an offer prior to a person holding a visa - hence the 457 visa. But it is exceptionally hard depending on what your occupation is

Some people do get offers when out of the country but it is very hard as a lot of companies are not willing to go down that route. If there are not sponsoring it is usually simply a sign that there are plenty of local candidates. You could though simply apply and if your CV is good enough maybe you will get lucky
Soha
verystormy, you have been a great help here . Thanks for your advice. I will try to apply for ACT & NT because they look much easier. hope it works

Jayb2k90
I am attempting to migrate under telecommunications technician. I've submitted my application with 70pts however my trade is on schedule 2. I understand I have to provide an employement contract but has anyone actually ever been invited? I'm searching for people in the same position or to hear any schedule 2 success stories? Any advice would be appreciated.

Jayb2k90
Do you have a employment contract? Unfortunatley not. I am working hard to get this, but I don't know when the invites going to be. so how can I possibly tell a potential employer when I will actually be in the country? The schedule 2 list is mainly there for people who are already living and working in WA on a temporary visa and want to apply for pr. One of the obvious issues you face is that not only can you not give a date when you would be available to start, but it could be many months and there is no guarantee of the visa as state sponsorship, even with a job offer if at the discretion of the state. Have you looked to see if any other states are sponsoring?

I'm not keen on spending 2 years up there but as far as I'm aware your not actually legally bound to that state for two years. It is more of a mora obligation? I think I will apply for NT as well. Thank you for your time and information it is very much appreciated.
verystormy
Be aware the NT have got used to this and now often refuse 190 sponsorship and offer 489 instead. You could still move to WA on this, but would have to live and work in a regional area, so couldn't live or work in Perth.
Druid
I was reading the newspaper today, the WA Govt opposition leader is pushing hard to have immigration into WA tightened up IF he wins the next election in March, he says there are still far to many immigrants arriving adding to WA's unemployment problems.
