FOL
Relaxing at home after being out on the mountain bikes with the family. We drove to Rotary Park and then offloaded the bikes and hit the trail to 10 Mile Dam. Our youngest aged 5 had a few falls along the way but managed the 15km round trip in just under 4 hours with frequent water breaks. Love living in Margaret River! Way too cold But it looks wonderful!

verystormy
Wow, fantastic VS, very happy for you, what an amazing experience. WA misses you but enjoy the moment, would love to do that too. When are you back, would love to meet up and share a beer or two? Just got back and all i can say is wow. If you only have one dollar left in the bank. Spend it on this. Probably the most incredible thing i have every done - i will post some pics soon, but havent got them from the guide yet - he will bring them in a day or two. I was a little nervous at first, as until i got there, i sort of assumed i would be fully accompanied. But, actually, the guide teaches how to use the slay and control the dogs, then heads off a long way ahead - far enough to be out of sight and cant hear his snow mobile and you set off! But, the dogs know what there doing. All you can here is the sound of the slay through the snow. I crossed a frozen lake, then into the forest - the forest felt almost enchanted. It is all fir trees and it was lightly snowing as we went, so almost dreamlike. Eventually, I caught the guide up, and we stopped in the forest and he cooked us both lunch on an open fire and we sat on reindeer skins, sipping coffee, before heading back. The way out was up hill and you have to help the dogs, which is hard work, but the run back was down hill and boy they are fast. I had 6 huskies and they are incredibly keen to run. Not sure when i am back. Technically, i am here for 10-12 weeks. But, the company are advertising my role as they want a Swede to do it. So, could be anytime if they can fill it. A beer when i get back would be fantastic

Had a good day today Medicare done and they were so helpful, bank all set up, seniors card sent for. I can really recommend PSS , they packed away everything , container came as they said and on went the car as well. We had a walk around yesterday to find out if rod licences were needed for fishing, no they are not. So feeling ok at present just a little tired. THE BIGGEST THOUGH IS the weather is fabulous !!! You could almost fish everywhere. i had all my fishing gear with me last time. I am just to scared to catch anything unknowing if it could kill me haha

There is only one fish you need to be really aware of and that if the puffer. Unfortunately it is the most likely thing you will catch. You need pliers to remove as although small, can take a finger end off. Far worse though if you were to try an eat!
