cocolevi
The title of the show is a bit of a joke. As if the people don't know he's going to be there & they don't wonder why the camera is around before he comes out. What do you think of the families on there? Ha yes I know as if they didn't know, it was ok I would of liked it if they showed a bit more of the suburbs where the houses where mainly for my benefit really lol. I've always been drawn to Sor but I want to research nor a bit more now.

I saw a month or two ago on here that someone had put something along the lines of that you get more flies etc SOR and becomes impossible to sit out in the garden. Not sure whether that is true, im sure somebody will tell us.
cocolevi
I hate flies so perhaps nor would be better. OH is a painter and decorator so I'm not sure what work would be like up there for him.I Did look into jobs around the secret harbour and Mandurah areas there seemed to be few about. Also good schools are important we have a 15 13 and 9 daughters and I've read good things about schools in Nor. Do you know what the beaches are like Nor not that it matters too much my main worries are the schools but it would be nice to spend time at the beach chilling with the kids
Guest Guest6235
I know somebody in Yanchep who moved out there last year with his family and they really liked Mullaloo beach.
drhebden
I know somebody in Yanchep who moved out there last year with his family and they really liked Mullaloo beach. Just a personal point of view, after spending January based in quinns rocks, we loved Mullaloo beach. Went up and down the coast and have to say it was one of the best - we have 5 Children aged 3 to 11 and felt quite safe in water - beautiful beach and enough facilities around for us! SJT
I don't want to spoil the allusion, but we get plenty of flies in NOR too, on some days, it is horrid sitting out as they keep landing on you. But you do learn to cope with them.
Nikkis2000
I hate flies so perhaps nor would be better. Do you know what the beaches are like Nor not that it matters too much my main worries are the schools but it would be nice to spend time at the beach chilling with the kids With regard to beaches - based on what I have seen - City Beach, Cottesloe and Scarborough are all quite young and funky but have lots of amenities. Trigg and North Beach are a bit quieter but still have amentities/cafes etc. Sorrento/Hillarys, Mullaloo and Yanchep are all quite family orientated. There are stretches in between which are quiter but don't necessarily have the amenitites. The thing to bear in mind here is that the beaches NOR (I can't really speak for SOR) are all really big compared to most European beaches so if you're down at Cottesloe and want to avoid the teenagers you walk a bit of a way down the beach and you'll be fine. Likewise if you're at Mullaloo and want to avoid kids! Most of the beaches have designated swimming areas and some are patrolled but I would say that the water is rougher than say Shearwater which is quite shallow. Yanchep does have a natural lagoon which provides some calmer waters for the kids but it can be a bit of a drive depending on your start point. You can surf on most beaches up this way which gives you an indication of what the water is like. Haven't come across a beach yet that hasn't got talcum powder fine sand! portlaunay
We've been thinking more NOR but nothing definite. I saw a month or two ago on here that someone had put something along the lines of that you get more flies etc SOR and becomes impossible to sit out in the garden. Not sure whether that is true, im sure somebody will tell us. The flies are everywhere and numbers can be localised on a number of different factors which can change the situation on a daily basis. The controlled introduction of dung beetles seems to be having a significant effect and I only remember one day in early summer 2013 when we were bothered by them. Although this says it's out of date I don't think the picture has changed a great deal and it makes for interesting reading. verystormy
Can only comment on the Mandurah are. We get a couple of waves of them every summer. Normally lasts only a matter of days each before there gone and only during the day.
Guest Guest6235
Thanks Porty, it is an interesting read even at 4am. VS, It's nice to know we don't have to factor in the flies then when deciding where to live if they are North & South & that they don't stay around that long depending where you live. I wasn't sure if it was true or not about them being just NOR so I'm glad I mentioned it. I put flies in the search to try & find the post I read but I can't find it. I'm sure it was by someone usually quite knowledgeable on the forum but it may have been something which they had come across themselves. verystormy
Just finished the washing up and tidying around. No small job given my wife has been away a couple of weeks. But, she is thankfully due back Saturday night and she couldn't have seen the house the way it was! Had run out of everything clean!
travelchic
Thanks janine. Got a busy week ahead of me. Jonny got a leaving party sat. Our Adams birthday Sunday. Then i am off to Scotland to say goodbye to my sister and dad. They want me to go and visit them, and this sounds really bad but i don't wanna go. We're not all that close. I've seen my dad twice in the past 20 years. He's never been involved in any of my life events. Last night i noticed a funny noise on my car and the first thing i thought was shouldn't risk driving to Scotland in this. I can't go lol. Rossy, missed you x x

Don't worry, nobody was pulling my leg, it was on a thread I was reading and not in a direct answer to any question of mine. I had nothing to do with the thread. Rossy, missed you x x Is the sound a bit of a Brrrrrr, ktang, ktang, prrrrrr, ticka, ticka, type sound? If it is it sounds well dodgy, I wouldn't go. Twice in two years is plenty, don't feel bad.
