I am seething.

Just had large moral boosting speech by the 'grande frommage' of flying kangaroos, perth squadron. Telling everyone, that we the Qantas 6, (ones about to be made redundant) will be cared for, looked after and everything done to help us and our families in this difficult time of uncertainty. So i walk away with a lovely glow inside and lump in my throat thinking these ozzies aren't so bad.

Wrong.

Waiting for me was an email saying they will pay for my flights home and thats it. Sort your belongs out yourself, we have no legal obligation to get your stuff home so you're on your own with that one. Think my jaw is still on the keyboard at work.

You are kidding??!!

That is unbelievable. I'm so sorry Plim

Unfortunately Plimthing that is the way Visa 457 swings with employers. But you must have known that from the start. Not good news for you and the family but maybe the connections you have made along the way will help you find further employment if you wish to stay in Ozl.

Is not happy found out sil had her baby 3 hours ago via FB

I had that when my Uncle died....although it was publicised on FB by my SIL before I was told, lucky for her I didn't see the post until after my mum had called me. I think some people use it as a way of announcing news but still it's nice to receive a call before the world of FB is informed!

I was told yesterday of a girl who announced that her relative had died on FB. Someone replied using the term 'LOL' thinking it meant lots of love. Unfortunately, everyone else read it as she was laughing out loud. Oh dear.
