Thanks Dom, so worrying. I have some friends and their animals with me already and we are just waiting to hear if their home is OK or not. It is a long night!

Vets around me have been given supplies and staff from local Hospitals to help with the influx of pets and animals...........so sad.

:frown:

Had a great day out at Jurien bay but my word what a boring drive with dreary scenery and it was only two hours. We saw many impatient drivers on the stretch between Lancelin and Yanchep and two near misses with innocent oncoming cars......we almost couldn't look with one of them as a young girl had to veer off the tarmac at one point to allow the idiot to get through.

Shocking!!! I was coming back from Kalbarri on my motorbike last year, around 11pm so it was pitch black, no street lamps on the Brand Highway. Anyways I saw two headlights comin up behind me, now considering I was doing 120km/h, this vehicle must have been going at least 150km/h. Anyways I wasn't going to go any faster because if I had hit a Roo or anything else in the road, I was a goner.

So I went to the left of my lane, to allow the vehicle to overtake - turned out it was a three trailer road train!!!!! Absolute lunacy!!!

Yeah those trucks don't do a particular limit, in fact they overtake etc well above it, they don't seem to have a lower limit than cars, imagine those hitting you. I just dont understand why they're so impatient here......and people say laid back!! We don't really venture out much after dark on the roads, firstly as we have a young one and secondly we just wouldn't risk it.

Chilling with a beer after a visit to Albanys Anzac centre. Well worth a visit,if you're into military history and if your not, the tea and cakes are nice too. Good view from top of the hill. It has hills, trees and everything down here, much better than red dirt of up north. Two peoples beach is nice especially if you like large lizards! Back to normality tomorrow.

I visited there last year and was very impressed with the interaction technology that went with the exhibits in the Centre - very well thought out and planned and it certainly kept the interest of the youngsters who were there when I was. I also joined a tour of the whole site and that was amazing... I didn't even know they had underground bunkers for ammunition, accommodation, medical facilities etc. Incredible view from behind the guns right at the top of the hill too, as well as from the memorial. I certainly recommend it as a "must visit" to anyone going down to Albany ..... and agree about the coffee and cakes too! So much to see and do in Albany and surrounds.... did you go to the National Trust "Strawberry Farm"? One of WA's very first farms and such an eye opener as to how the early colonists lived.

No we didn't go there, we were distracted by the swiss chocolate shop!! nice gardens too, ideal for a nice cup of earl grey! Also the honey farm and tree top walks...loads to do in Albany.

Just having a break from going through 30 plus years of family photos to weed out some for my son's partner to make a photobook for him to celebrate his soon to be 30th birthday. A few tears have been shed reliving those years..... and so many memories relived. Can't wait to see the resulting photobook.

Love Photos.........so many stories and memories xx

Rained on and off here.................working outside up in the hills of Jarrahdale.........got wet a few times............
