Wondering what happened to @odies who used to be such a prominent member of the forum.... Anyone know??

I am here, my account was disabled , and I look in every now and again, but nobody I know bar the people who always had a go at what i said. So I go on different ones now.

I have been here for 15 months, we are enjoying ourselves, made friends with many off this forum and enjoy their company. I hope you are well Rossy being retired isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Yes lots to do but once its done ??? joined lots of different things but we are a bit in-between to old for the majority who are coming over with young children and to young for all the seniors clubs.

Good to hear from you Odies and I am sorry to hear that you had issues with people on the forum having a go at your comments and hopefully they are the ones who have now left us! But it is good that you have made friends with people from the forum.

I agree in part to your comment about retirement not being all it is cracked up to be, as I found it quite difficult at the beginning after working in a high stress career, to actually slow down. I was the first in my friend group to retire, but they are all catching up now and all are saying how hard the first year is to adjust to retirement, so I think it is something that we all have to go through. After all it is a massive adjustment and one of the biggest events in our lives, as emigrating is, and you have done both at the same time! Hats off to you Odies!

There are lots of clubs etc for retired people here, and I have tried a few, but I find that it is just not me. I might fit demographically, but mentally I don't as I have never been into social or sport clubs and have just done my own thing, so I totally get where you are coming from.

Hope to see you on the forum a bit more Odies!!! Rossy

Awwwww really? Huge big hugs for you @ali

Hope you are ok and is there a possibility that you may return to the UK?? xx

Should have written that better Dom .. Meant i'm at home sick .. not homesick for the UK, not been homesick at all for the UK and can't imagine returning. My daughter is off to Europe tonight, she's going to call to see her grandparents on the way home - she was 11 last time she was on UK soil - it will be interesting to hear what she thinks of it through adult eyes

Packing.

We move house on Friday.

Long story, but we are moving to Scotland!!! We will be living in a tiny hamlet about half an hours walk from a small market town called Strathaven which is near Glasgow.

Better watch out - depending on which side of Strathaven your on, you'll be quite close to Stacey
