Hi Happy Little Vegemite

I don't won't to sound doom and gloom but a word of advice, insure everything and don't underestimate, because if the worse happens they take into account underinsurance and will only pay out a percentage of the claim. I use to work for loss adjusters and the amount of claims that were dealt with like that because someone was thinking they were saving a couple of hundred pounds cost them thousands. Don't forget they may want to see the inventory sheet your packers do in the event of a claim and it is quite extensive what they do, it is nothing like moving around the corner, they list every single box and what is in it and who packed it. We were lucky we had no damage what soever but a couple of people on here have had quite a bit of damage to their possessions.

We found Insure your Move was quite competitive it cost £600.00 for £35,000 worth of insurance.

Thanks for the advice SJT, think we'll be going with insure your move too, everyone seems to give them a pretty good review, and they're much cheaper than the lazy option of sticking with the shipping companies insurance quote!

Well just been to have a steriod injection, lets hope this puts a spring in my step. And just paid my Assurance of Support to centrelink vis my son. will not be long for my medicals and police check.

Oh exciting stuff Odies. Remind me, when did you submit you're application? I know you're a little ahead of my MIL but just wanted to check time frames. MIL is wanting to know when she can come to Oz for a holiday and was looking at July to Sep but this may not work with is only having arrived mid may and also with the timings of her medicals etc.

Lou, I applied in June 2013 , received letter back in August have to go for police clearance in April then medicals in June. Ben my son did the AOS with centrelink took a month he now has to open a commonwealth bank account for the bond money to sit in for 10 years. It states to do this in case he does not pass the requirements and so they can see the money in the account which they state will not hold back the visa. Then I get the CO and cross fingers the visa , then pay the huge amount. The AOS bit is very misleading it says to identify assurer immediately but to contact centrelink 12 months after june 2013 however Ben had to supply loads and visit twice <massive waiting times> and it is centrelink who have requested the bank account ?

I think your MIL should just about be ok to visit on those time scales

Got flowers as a thank you from a patient today but I got rid of all my vases at the car boot. I put them in a jar instead and it dawned on me that things are actually changing. Lots of stuff has gone and lots more to go in the next couple of months. I've been quietly terrified for the last couple of weeks, but feeling excited again today :smile2:

My ten year old son loves transport systems and stations and wants to be an urban designer.

He wrote to the minister of transport a few weeks ago and we are now sat on a train to Perth following his invitation to get involved in the new Busport project.

Hope your son has a brilliant time!

Thanks, he did, his head exploded.

Fair play to Perth Transport Authority, they were amazing, genuinely interested in him and his ideas and couldn't do enough for him.

Not only have they made him extremely happy but they've secured a customer for life and cemented his dream of becoming an urban designer.

Many, many thanks to the Perth Busport team.
