We've lived in new builds with integral storage so we don't have any wardrobes, sideboards, dressers or anything like that. Son has grown out of his bed and has been promised new in Oz and I can't wait to see the back of our dining set and sofa. I've heard about the bedding a few times now so if we're going to have a bit of space I might stock up. Thanks for the tips

Gumtree is great out here, you can get some good stuff really cheap. hth.

Anybody just watched that Treasure hunters on bbc1 ? those opals in the outback, and all those flies , would not give my life up for that way to live

Welcome to my world lol. When i normally work in Oz, it can often be in a swag in the bush - covered in flies and looking for "treasure" - the geological evidence of the presense of gold

as I am sat here sneezing away a thought crosses my mind,..... can you buy loratadine over the counter in WA? My hayfever and allergies are ridiculous! ..... and can you buy paracetamol and ibuprofen over the counter too?? ...

Yep, Loratadine is freely available. There are a lot of unbranded medicines available here so things like this are very cheap.

It was good but I wished I'd watched the last few season 3 episodes again to remind myself where it was up to.

I feel like that every time I've watched an episode. So many characters drop in and out, I'm really curious about the mysterious Jaqen H'ghar who helped Arya escape and I really like the new Oberyn Martell, hoping he can put a few Lanisters in their place.

I think I'm going to watch the first three series again, it's just too awesome not to.

Have you read the books Porty? I like the way the TV series has "evened out" some of the timelines. The books do tend to jump around a bit which makes it even harder to follow and keep up with who's alive or not!

SoHo had been re-running all 3 seasons in the run up to 4, so my OH was being subjected to a good dose of GOT on a daily basis for the last 6 weeks!

No, the books completely passed me by and I'm not sure how that happened and I can't believe I'd never heard of them. For me the programme is easily the best thing that's ever happened in TV.

Would you recommend reading the books knowing that I've seen the series? I was a little worried there may be too many spoilers and I love not knowing which leading character is going to be killed off next.

I'd defintinely recommend them. You should be fine to catch up on the first three books as, if anything, the TV series occasionally brings things from the books forward (if that makes sense). It all gets a bit tricky after 6 books to say exactly what happens when, but I'm sure there was stuff in season 3 that didn't happen until book 4.

I have to say though they are sticking true to the books and there aren't too many artistic liberties being taken.

I'm very much the type of person that always reads the book before seeing the film/tv series because I believe that you can't beat the power of the imagination. I enjoy creating my own idea of the world and then seeing if it matches what the creators saw. However the locations and casting of the series are both absolutely spot on in my opinion and are capturing the essence of the characters perfectly.

If you're going to read the books, I recommend doing it on a Kindle (or other e-book device) as the books are massive!!
