portlaunay
I'm just toasting my nuts. I've 20ish for brekkie tomorrow so what better on these chilly winter mornings than a steamy bowl of rich porridge? I've made a selection of toppings - toasted nuts, a spicy fruit compote, chilli spiked braised pears or earl grey infused raisins. If anyone's down Freo way at 8am I can promise the company will be better than the coffee but the porridge should be awesome. $5 a bowl in beautiful gardens so gloves and scarves are a must. Akasully2
dropped hubby off at train station this morning, feeling nervous for him as its his first day of his new job! Today I dropped my husband off for his first day at work too! Freaky! I felt very emotional too, even more so as I had to drive the car back on my own for the first time. Nikkis2000
Definitely! I had a 17 yr clean sheet from accidents - until some woman drove into the side of me at an intersection last week!

Nikkis2000
All fine - Thanks though! It was fairly slow speed as we were pulling away from the lights. Both lanes were turn right. She was in the right hand lane of the two but kept going straight ahead and into my rear wing. Nice big dent and a swapping of a lot of paint!! nikkiwd
hope he got on ok akasully? mine just had induction so got shown around the different venues in the cbd and did some paperwork...easy. he was a bit shellshocked doing the commute on the train in rush hour though, we came from a wee village where the only traffic jam was the school drop off at 8.50am. luckily his shifts vary so he can drive or cycle in on a later start. I was a bit nervous driving too, not knowing the speed limits on various roads worried me as I have heard about the tough approach to speeding! We have also witnessed some dodgy driving by others. Nikkis2000
Absolutely! I surprised myself at how nice I was about it, she was quite shaken. So far dealing with the insurance has been quite straight forward. The car is still drive able too so not a big deal.
Akasully2
After the initial anxiety of trying to follow the sat nav and concentrate on the road, I got the hang of it and felt fine. I feel so much more confident driving on the local roads that I know. The other day my OH was driving along the freeway and he wanted to move to the left hand side. As he did so, a car appeared in the lane (undertaking) and he had to swerve over violently. I screamed and grabbed his arm in fear. OMG, it really shook me up. He has now concluded that you have to double check which ever way you want to move lanes, assume nothing. This is what worried this morning. As for speeding, I set the cruise control and just enjoyed the freedom of knowing I was safely under the limit. It does freak me out though when I can't see a sign and am not sure what I should be doing. If in doubt, drive like a granny!
odies
funny my hubby hates the thought of driving in oz, keeps refusing to do it. Me love it go everywhere . love the wide roads as here it is all sweet country lanes where you can not see anything coming around the corner. SaffanZimbo
Just sent emails to Doree Bonner, John Mason & White & Co to let them know that we are going with PSS. Feel really bad about having to chose but at the end of the day we really liked PSS as they will load into the container on our driveway which the others did not offer. Also the PSS quote was reasonable - not the cheapest but their quote was comprehensive. They have also offered us a free 25kg carton airfreight to Perth so OH can take some work gear/tools. Now to start corresponding our move manager as we've been given his mobile number and email address if we have any queries (poor guy, I feel sorry for him already!). nikkiwd
we were warned by a lady in a shop about the undertaking on our second day so were prepared for that. Hubby says its strange on the freeway as everyone cruises along at the same speed where as in uk people fly past in the fast lane well over speed limit. good they found your container Deb, you wonder how they lose something that size!
