lol odies, we live with mil, and we are all on holiday for 1 week with her and my mum also, so I think we should be allowed to have a week to ourselves ;-)

We had a false widow in the sitting room on Saturday but my son rescued me... and not for the last time I bet? X

Haha I'm sure!!

my little one is totally loving spiders at the mo, catching them in jars etc , as boys do ,but desperately hoping he will stop in oz. I've been told the closer to the coast the less spiders around. I don't no how true this is, I can see myself setting the tent up on the beach :cute: X

My OH spent a year in Oz when he was young free and single. He says he hardly saw any spiders.... He was drunk a LOT though so I'm doubtful he noticed anything? I'm not a fan of bug spray so I'm gonna have to toughen up (or pitch my tent next to yours?) x

Thanks nikki.

Scott told his mum last night that we are staying an extra week and that's when we are planning to visit longleat. She was fine about it which I'm pleased about. My stomach was doing somersaults yesterday thinking about it. Mil hasn't mentioned anything to me. But Im spending today at home so who knows :-/

oh no deb, that is my worst nightmare and worry of what will happen. Feel so sorry for you. Having spent the time sending items to oz, they are special items you do not want broken, not on. I'd complain. Insurance should pay out!!

i hope getting all your other items today made up for it. Can't wait to be at that stage. Our stuff is still passing thru water somewhere, yikes:unsure:

Enjoy your wine!! And tomorrow is another day xx

Oh no Deb. That's not good news at all. We've also gone with them and I watched them doing exactly that...using cushions to save on packing materials. I stood over them and made them wrap everything in bubble wrap. I thought, it might be ok when you pack it but when it's handled again from the van into the container, then again into store, back into the container, inspected by customs, unloaded and checked and back into store, back into a lorry for delivery it'll have all shifted and the cushions wouldn't be of any use. I'd be left with a load of smashed vases. Trouble is I couldn't be watching over all of them as closely as I'd of liked as they went through the house like a whirlwind!

I feel your pain! Just make sure you claim!

Glad that you have your things, sorry that you have had a bad experience! we had a similar problem with Pickfords, just about every piece of furniture we bought was damaged in some way or another, and some were missing, we claimed (we had separate insurance, not Pickfords) its not a quick process and takes forever. Also be sure to check your electrical goods and your policy, we found for example that we only had 3 days to inform them of any electrical claims that we intended to make, you also only have a relatively short time (maybe 7 days?) to let them know that you intend to claim in the first place, so if you want to claim at least email them and tell them that you will be making a claim with the details to follow. hope you manage to get it all sorted.:wubclub:
