Trying to search for car hire for boxing day to get from Hull to Heathrow but looks like we're going to have to hire from the 24th as nowhere is open boxing day....paying for 2 extra days when we probably won't even use it xmas eve/day. Emigration problems.

That's bad timing, have you booked your flights now

Yep, booked last night. We wanted a full month in Perth to look round for both sight seeing and looking for rental before my wife starts work beginning of Feb.

have you considered coach to heathrow? Unless you wanted to sightsee while you are there? I used to use National Express coaches. You wouldnt be driving then and could get some kip! Once there you could get taxi to your hotel if you have one.

Do they go straight to Heathrow? Not a bad idea if they do. We considered train but with 2 big cases, 3 smallish cases, 2 rucksacks, a child seat, a buggy and a baby to be lugging around we didn't want be hopping on and off trains.

We don't have hotel as it's a night time flight so travelling down during day.

Cheers but booked car now. I just looked at national express for boxing day and it was a 7 hr or so trip for £86. If it was just two of us we may have done this & as it happens it's only £40 cheaper than hire car for 3 days but thanks anyhow.

Have you changed it to a Aussie style one or just our normal type cv. I've read else where people change them to Aussie they say it's better to, not that I'd know x

Ive followed the Ahpra guidance .. they have like a template to follow lol, all seems tedious .. my magistrates going to hate me when I rock up with 100 pages for him to sign.. :embarressed:

Just got home from a lovely evening at a fellow PP's house with other PP's. Thank you so much Perth Poms! I've met so many lovely people on this site and tbh it's what keeps me on here as I know I'll meet so many more lovely people! Looking forward to next weekend and dinner with @beandownunder and @Osmond8 and the meet up in the park
