chester17
Visa lodged for WA on January 20th... Anyone else on a similar time frame? How are you all getting along?? on a side note does anyone know if higher points speeds this part of the process up? hi our 190 visa was lodged beginning of December and we got case officer end of jan, had medicals etc and then had an email two weeks ago to state our case was finalised but there is no guarantees to when the visa will be granted??? Was expecting it anyday up till then but it seems they are only allowed to grant so many in a program year which ends 30th june 2014 and therefore we have no idea whether it will be granted in the next few weeks, months or not till July!!! We are so frustrated now and there's nothing we can do but wait and hope!!! It's like we are in a huge queue now so I hope you have more luck!! :-)

We lodged January 20th, got a case officer last week and everything has been front loaded. I wonder what priority grants are being handed out in? I'm really worried now they may change the game plan come July, maybe say they are cancelling certain applicants... Like schedule 2 lists or something along those lines. Would just be our luck.. This whole process has been a nightmare from start to finish!

The priority is this, regional sponsored visas first, then employer sponsored (457?), then 190 state sponsored, etc etc....so it's not too low down the list. I'm not sure they could take it away from you now just may be a longer wait? We are gutted but still hold out hope that it may be sooner rather than later. Good luck and keep me posted if you hear anything!!

Can't bear it if i have to wait till after June!! I know- the waiting is just awful especially under these new circumstances! We are already here, my partner is waiting to set up his own business, everything's ready to go! After 18 months in waiting and 1 dodgey migration agent, June is a lifetime away! moss2oz
So I emailed my CO last night to see if he could give me any info on timescales and the limited places before June. Here's his reply..... Unfortunately your case is affected by the limits that you’ve spotted on the website. As planning levels affect all applications, including those in the final stages of processing, I cannot give you an indication as to the likely timeframe for finalisation of your application. Please be assured that I will progress your application as soon as possible. At this stage, there are no further documents required. I will, of course, let you know if anything comes up. From February 2014, the Skilled Regional Sponsored GSM category has a limited number of visa places remaining. The remaining places will be allocated in line with the priority processing arrangements. Further information is available on the department’s website. Can only hope that where as it normal would have been 7/8 weeks we could be looking at 11/12 weeks- wishful thinking? Ibthink we'll be thankful we're already here and have years left on our visa!
