MrsL
Hi Everyone, We are a family of 5 moving to Perth soon, our visas were approved last week and right now hubby is on his way from Dubai to Perth We decided that I would wait with the kids in the UK until I move over in July so our son could finish school in June. We have 3 kids and their ages are 9, 3 and 1.5 Any advice on school etc would be kindly appreciated as well as where to live with kids, I love secret harbour but it seems like a long commute as hubby will be working in North Perth. Anyway, I'm hoping to make some friends and we can all meet up soon! I'm sad to leave all my friends behind but looking forward to the new adventure. I better go back to bed here as working tomorrow MrsL
verystormy
Hi MrsL and welcome to the community. We are a friendly bunch and lots of advice to be had. If your husband is going to be working in the north, then my advice would be to consider the areas up there first. Though not impossible from secret Harbor as the train down the mandurah line then runes to the northern suburbs.
MrsL
Thanks verystormy, yes that's what I thought! I guess he will have to decide if is worth the commute
ali
Personally, I wouldn't want the commute (remember it'll be twice a day) I'd look initially NOR if that's where your hubby will be based.
Druid
Welcome, there are some lovely suburbs up north on the coast just as nice as Secret Harbour if not nicer, but they do tend to get pricier the closer to the city you get, if you go further north the prices come down considerably, Mindarie, Clarkson Quinns etc are probably on a par with Secret Harbour price wise & just as nice. Weedolly
Have you been to Secret Harbour? Its really nothing special. Definately not worth the long commute anyway.

Realistically, you'll be talking of hours wasted per day in traffic, I guess like most of us you want a good work life balance, so being home in the evening before the kids are in bed would be a bonus lol. Distances can be quite vast here - don't underestimate them.

And thats the reason we are moving from the UK, life heres been so hectic and barely seen the kids during the week and too exhausted at the weekends! We really want some quality time with them, thats our main priority!
