Not allowed a wood burner ????? whats all that about then????. Years ago i dated a girl from County Durham and would always know when i was close from the smell of coal fires... loved it

Yep, you would be surprised by the covenants that can be on areas. In our suburb others include washing lines are banned, all boundry walls have to be limestone, wheelie bins have to be stored out of view and a range of others.

So been looking at a modern gas fire. Had a chimney and fire place built into the new house design. But cheapest fire is about $3.5k

Kleenheat Gas showroom in Myaree have a large selection of all sorts of gas heaters from Rinnai convectors through to mock gas fired logs fires that look incredibly "real".

I picked up a cheap movable gas fire the other week. Used it loads. Just plugs into the bayonet on the wall.

Everdure is the brand. About $800 in Harvey Norman, I picked it up for $250 of gumtree. Looks new.

Cheers Ross. Just gone through there website and it looks like there best price is more than already seen for what we need - has to be a flu fitted fire and need contemporary given the house. Best they offering is over $3k plus installation.
