gar374
Hi, We reckon this is going to be prohibitively expensive at around the £4000 mark, but thought it best to ask here for some practical costs. We have a 6 year old Jack Russell (Ziggy) and when we were over in Perth for 5 weeks last year I missed him so much. We'd love to bring this small, barking mad bundle with us when we move but can someone tell us how much it's likely to cost roughly? We know the Byford quarantine centre is not likely to re open and the term is down to 10 days. But has anyone moved a dog over in the past couple of year that would be prepared to tell us how much it cost? Thanks Gareth

gar374
I've just been on to the petair uk site measured and weighed the dog and gone for a quote. Thanks. Greig T, ouch - thats a lot when you add it all up. Its about the same as visa for me my wife and son. Maybe I should see about getting some work so I have more pennies to spend on moving when the time comes. Cheers G
verystormy
I would give pet air a call. It does vary by the size of the dog a bit as well.
gar374
wow, Pet Air UK came back with a really fast quote - very impressed. Sadly the quarantine fees in Oz will more than triple on 1st July from $39 a day to $149. Do we think they're trying to cover the costs of reducing the term to ten days perhaps???? Ah well. It adds up to a phenomenal amount of money as I thought it would. I think our new life will be pet free. Will have to make the most of our time with him until then. Thanks Gareth
domino
I am shipping my Labrador in 4 weeks time. Flight from Gatwick to Melbourne £1870, I am not using a pet transport agency, am doing it myself. 10 days quarantine £900. Yet to arrange Melbourne to Perth flight. Daff.gov.au give a breakdown of timescale what you need to do and when. My container was £120. You also need an export health cert from depra.
