Hi travelchic just looking at your timeline at the bottom of the posts and it says you sat the ielts academic then the ielts general just wondered the reason? Was the general for your visa ? I need to score 8s on all sections so I can get full points for 189 visa .. I've read on some posts that;

people led sat the academic ielts for anmac skills assessment as they require 7s in each sections,

once accepted people went on to do the general test for the 8s for the visa .. But the post was from mid 2013.

I have looked on skills assesment for the requirements for English proficiency and it states

" unless you are required to do so by your assessing body you only need to do the general training ielts"

hope you can help xx

Hi ash. If you're a nurse you have to sit the academic test for your skills assessment and you have to achieve a 7 in all categories. You will get 10 points for your visa for all 7's. I needed 20 points because of my age and for 20 points you need all 8's. I got a 7.5 in reading on my academic so sat again for points only. For points you only have to do the general test which is a bit easier.

hope this helps.

Well just got in and I look like a drowned rat!! And some rude man drove through a puddle right next to me which jonny found hilarious. Got my AHPRA sorted. Will be good to go in about 10 days but they said if I get a job to call them and they'll rush it through ha ha. Someone in WA willing to rush pmsl. I have now sorted my bank account and have my bank card and everything sorted out. Went to a food court for some lunch. A lady across from me left half of her meal on the table and a little old man sat down in her seat and finished it off ha ha. Go grandad. So I bought him a drink to wash it down with. Funny as. I also got an email from the hospital I'm most interested asking me to call in for an interview on Friday anytime between 8-4. Whatever is convenient for me. Woo hoo. Will keep you posted. Now off for a hot shower as my hair now looks like it's been combed with a toffee apple and I've got a home open.

Where's your house open? Still in Beldon? Get along to Sizzlers for your lunch! Not fancy but you can have a total pig out on the cheap ;-)

Thanks weedolly, can't move now. Stuffed. House open was in fleet way, next door but one to my mate. Put my app in then went to toys r us for a bike for Jonny. Went to the local school and enrolled Jonny. Got his uniform too. He starts on Monday. Had an email from a hospital in mt lawley asking me to contact them as soon as my AHPRA is through and they'll show me round their unit and give me some casual shifts immediately. Never been so popular. Now sitting down having a brew while the washing is on. Then I'm off to sorrento to pick up a guest bed that I bought brand new from gumtree. Busy busy busy lol

Lovely update, if you get chance keep them coming!

Glad your settling in well, its a little frustrating that WA weather didn't realise you were due to arrive and turn the thermostat up :-). Iv never heard anyone say they were so cold on arrival in Australia, especially before they have acclimatised. It certainly does make you think. I'm sure you will soon be telling us how hot you are though!

Take care and well done and doing everything so successfully, Ill be happy if I only get half the interest in employment you are getting.

Got one Lou. Would never find my way home without it. There's no pub corners to go by ha ha. I'm sat in with my mate now waiting for a bed and dining table and chairs to be delivered. Jonny is better in school. It's no fun for him sitting around offices while I'm whipping my passport in and out of my handbag. I received my inspection fee this morning nik. Paid it first thing. Need more clothes ha ha.

Hi Debs, yeah I am a haematological oncology nurse, but I only have 18months post grad experience and I'm 23 yrs old so I also need 20 points ... Obviously revising loads but good to know I can re take the general test for visa points ... I send off for my anmac assessment next week so I just need to get my things certified ... On the website it' says legal representative - so I'm guessing that's a solicitor to certify....

Can an I just say I've been following your. Journey for a whole and you have provided me with lots of information especially with regards to the anmac process and what information to gather ... So thank you xx

So I went for an interview. Wasn't all that impressed. Wasn't a very friendly atmosphere but there was staff off sick so they were a bit stressed. They did offer me some casual shifts. Have another interview lined up for monday so hopefully I'll feel a bit better about that one. Also received a call about the home open and I got it. Yay. Go me. Moving in on 29th june. Means jonny and I will miss the pirate park. Booo.

Wow Debs,

I wish I could be just a tiny bit like you, you have achieved so much, in such a short space of time. I can't go the meet up either, but at least once you are in your home, you can start to breathe and relax, plenty of time for meet ups. Did you enjoy your breakfast at Hillarys?
