Sorting out stuff to do, beaches to see, places to eat in perth and found this post/this site. Taken so much from here I thought I'd join to say thanks!

Putting what I can find, of interest to me and my 'situation' as it were!, into a simple spreadsheet. If it would help anyone I don't mind sending them it.

It is a constant work in progress though of course!

Looking forward to Australia!

Myself and some fellow Perth Poms (2 couples...30 somethings ;) found a lovely restaurant in Northbridge last weekend called 'Baby Mammoth' ... I don't think it's been open long but it was amazing food and it was byo which I always love :) Its based on African food with a bit of a twist, and if you are adventurous with your food you will love it!! We paid $135 for 4 people including the corkage fee, which I thought was excellent value for money :) enjoy!!

Food 9/10

Service 9/10

Value 9/10

Brilliant thread.. Really interested to find a good place for a curry when we are back, didn't really find one last time. Xx

You will still struggle to get a really good curry. Yogi in mandurah is "ok" and about as good as it gets. But still only at the point that if it opened in Leicester it would have gone bust in a week. Though I have now finally found a recipe to make a good one myself.

The Cinnamon club in Leederville was good! Can't comment on price as it was a work do but food and service were good.

Went to the Greek restaurant in Freo Eat Greek. The food was good although lunch time menu limited. The downside spoke Greek to waitress Sophia - Greek name - big let down she could not speak Greek. I was a tad disappointed with that since a family restaurant. Although she did come back out later and ask if I was of Greek heritage bless. The upside when we went to pay the waiter spoke Greek to me yeahhhh and he had a very nice reply from me ........ Have to say made my day also made me realize how much I miss Greece.

Villa Roma in Freemantle, we just popped in on Mothers Day and tried out luck, they accommodated us with no objection although very busy, we even requested a table in the courtyard. The food was best Italian I have ever had in Perth, Service could not find fault, and price was surpisingly good.

Food 9/10 (if they had provided more would have been a 10, but then I am just being greedy)

Service 10/10

Value 9/10

Sittella winery, swan valley

one of the best restaurant views from the deck area. Fine dining menu so not cheap but not expensive compared to other high end restaurants. No massive mark up on their wines as well which is so good! Love this place for a treat.

food 10/10

service 9/10

value 9/10

I seem to be just doing lunches these days, and can recommend Gusto Cafe in Mend St, South Perth - a small cafe with a very different menu that changes frequently. Run by a husband and wife team who really love their food - good size portions at average prices. Lo Quay Cafe on the Canning River at Wilson - coffee and cake is always a winner and their brekkies and lunches are consistently good - You can sit outside right on the river for the full ambience, but indoors which is quite noisy when full.
