funkft Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 Hello, just wondering if anybody knows how to go about unlocking phones? i brought my iPhone over from the UK but didn't get it unlocked, D'oh! gar374 Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 You can probably do it online - you'll need the IMEI code which you can get from the settings page and enter that into a website. I think shops over here usually charge about a fiver for it. I had o2 do mine and they tried to charge me a tenner. In fact, they DID charge me a tenner. I called them up to complain, they listened to my previous call asking for it to be unlocked and agreed, I wasn't made aware of a charge for it and refunded me my tenner. Plimthing Posted August 5, 2014 Report Share Posted August 5, 2014 We had a nightmare with our vodafone phone, apparently we needed various codes from UK and vodafone OZ were totally unwilling to help in anyway unless we bought a new phone and contract from them. So we contacted vodafone uk got required code from them, went to vodafone oz to unlock 'their' side of the phone (don't know what it was or why) which they did thinking we were going to get a sim card and contract from them. I have been told to plug this into iTunes to complete the unlock. My computer is still on the shipping container - so, I am able to plug this into any bodies iTunes? aligard Posted August 6, 2014 Report Share Posted August 6, 2014 Hi, I unlocked my phone here in the UK on Vodafone. You can do it all online and you have a fee to pay. You will need fill in the form, if you are not the first person to own the phone then you will need to contact them and get their details which may be tricky. Can't remember how long it took...2-3 days once you submit the form I think, they send you a message to let you know its done and open to any network. Hope you sort it soon. If it were me I'd give it a go, as everything on my phone is backed up - you could always restore everything when your pc arrives. Good luck.
