Scotty
So I have a month until my IELTS. I need all 8's so I decided to start studying last night. I started with the writing task 1 - argument. Had it pretty well nailed and then this morning I realised it was the academic one I had been studying for. Oops ha! Oh well, onto the general today. Is task 1 always a letter? Should be easier than the academic though so at least that's a good thing.
Vijay Kumar P
Yes. Task-1 will always be a letter (simple task), writing letter to various people/company, etc upon the given situation. Tast-2 will be sort of an essay, you will have to justify your opinion... Writing, Listening and Speaking are quite easy bands. Reading is bit tricky
JasonM
If you search for IELTS on the forum you will fined reams and reams of posts and advise on IELTS, i used youtube and also a website for written and reading examples and it also showed the answers. http://www.ielts-exam.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=15&Itemid=64. you can buy a book and cd are out there with the listening test. If you study and practice it will be easier, use you tube for the advise on speaking test as i did this and got 9.0 and i thought i had done rubbish. Little tips on how and what to say.
