Ladies, chill out man! I offered my two penneth worth and i get assassinated. If its different from your views of Australia all the way from back there from the UK, then i'm sorry for being different. I am just the messenger, don't shoot me. Perhaps i should of said ' what part of law do you wish to break to improve your childs safety?' but hind sight is great isnt it?!

Also when you are over here you can advise me where to put my 3rd attachment point ( avoid temptation to be rude now children) of my seatbelt in my convertible car as the ozzies over here have been scratching their heads trying to abide by the ADR laws that came in force in the mid 70's. Something to do with the fact there is no structure above shoulder height in the rear of the vehicle for the 3rd point to affix to.

Re the initial post, get a taxi at the airport they are massive and will fit all your stuff in no problem. There are a few car hire places on Dixon Road in Rockingham, so you could try there the following day.

Finally let it be known that i like safety, its my job, and i'm bloody good at it, as are others in my profession. Testiment to this will be when you land safely at Perth Airport in the near future.

Good night and chill bro'

Thanks for that Gridstar, i use Samba a lot for info, its good isnt it?! However the pic in your link is of a standard 1971 beetle, and mine, being a convertible, doesnt have the structural C pillar between the rear side window and the rear window. As i brushed upon in my previous post, i don't have any metallic structure in the rear of the vehicle above shoulder height to weld the standard kit to. You will see what i mean if you take a closer look at my avatar. Australian Design Regulations are quite strict and any custom fabricating legally should be taken to an inspector, and have an 'Engineers' approval, which is a lot of hoops to jump through in a country that doesnt even have an annual MOT like other countries.

So thats my conundrum at the moment and as we have jumped all over this thread for long enough, feel free to PM me or start a new one in Transportation so we can give the OP a chance to get some answers on her taxi problem.

Good morning by the way, excuse my manners, it was a sunny day in Perth, now its cloudy and looks like rain again. Same as last year nearly 2 months of rain when we arrived!
