Jueglittergirl
Hi I too have my MSA with TRA, I received an acknowledgement email dated 5th June, I have received an apology email dated 27th Aug which states they anticipate having an outcome within 2 weeks, that's tomorrow. The email states they have had an influx of applications, so it's not just yours that is delayed. Hope this aliviates any worries, as I know it doesn't help. Best wishes. skim
Thanks Jueglittergirl it does make me feel a little better. Fingers crossed I should be in the next few weeks then good luck and let me know when you hear Hey folks I'm in same boat I'm a plasterer for last 8 years back home in Ireland. I have been a plasterer in Oz for last 1 3/4 years. I got my AQF 3 and submitted references, payslips from each year and 5 payslips from each year in oz, certs , resume and portfolio to tra on 16th June and still no word. Very worried to be honest I think the fact I was off couple of weeks in 2011/12 because of the recession could go against me. I dunno maybe I'm paranoid. my visa is over in January so I need to submit it in time. Any help or advice? my head is wrecked?????=(

Hey ya I got acknowledge ment letter but heard nothing since you think I should look into it. Very busy it takes a while to adapt to the aussie plastering method there is some awful Cowboys but if your patient you'll eventually get a company who will show you the ropes and actuality care about the standard of work. I'm working with a guy he very good and he top notch plasterer as aussies go. I'm hoping to get nominated off him.

Derbygirl42
Hey Skim got the succesful skills assessment this morning and i was mentally high fiving until i read that they have only recognised OH as a plasterer post qulaification since 2007 so that only gives us 7 years out of the last 10 and we need 8 out of the last 10. OH has been a plasterer since 1997 - he's from Dublin and so till 2004 he worked there until he moved to the UK. Seems they have only taken into consideration since 2004 despite me sending all his tax records from Dublin as well. I'm so frustrated don't know where this leaves us waiting for my agent to call

Jueglittergirl
Hey Derby Girl, sorry your news wasn't all good, mine too only gave me 4 years post qualifying and not the 7 I'd held the post, this meant going for SS, can you do the same for the extra points.
Derbygirl42
I had already included the SS points so we are currently 5 points short which I'm gutted about. Back to ielts. Have to try and keep the faith!!
Jueglittergirl
Hey, Derbygirl, You've completed the hardest part, it is the skills assessment, you have that now. I've noticed others have used online study guides to help with the IELTS, so don't loose the faith, when it's something you want, you will make it happen. ninny
I had already included the SS points so we are currently 5 points short which I'm gutted about. Back to ielts. Have to try and keep the faith!! Good luck with revision etc... My OH has just sat the exam so we are waiting for the result for the extra points! We stated process few years back and ended up going down the route if converting his UK quals to a OZ one as he only held a level 2 not 3... The delay meant he got older and then we lost 5 points! i figure that if we have all come this far after jumping through all these hoops, what's another one to jump to get us closer to the Australian dream... Passing the skills assessment is the longest part I believe so here's being hopeful! ??
Derbygirl42
Thanks Ninny. I really think my oh is going to struggle he's already sat it twice and he's soo stressed about it. I'm praying it will be 3rd time lucky for us as he's already said this is it he's not doing it again
