Raychelsb
Hi all Can anyone give me an idea on what it is like over there costwise for having work done on cars? I mean, is it a rip off?! My husband's car he just bought second hand has a few niggles he would like to get fixed (and possibly a new timing belt) but we have no idea what it is like over there getting a good mechanic at a reasonable price. He's going to ask around at work if anyone knows a good garage. Any recommendations from you guys welcome, feel free to PM. Thanks as always
Druid
It's Perth, it's a rip off, we used the guy on Nicholson Rd, Canningvale, he has a garage next to Livingston Market place petrol station, (next to McDonald's) his prices weren't bad on basic servicing, but any additional stuff cost a fortune, a timing belt change on the daughters Barina cost $400, you soon learn to live with the niggles as long as they are safe niggles. Raychelsb
Cheers Druid as always. He's noticed the power steering fluid is leaking too, I guess it's cheaper to keep topping it up!
Druid
Oh yes, and another thing, no one keeps spare parts on the shelf, all the usuall stuff us available through supercheap etc, but anything specific has to come from Melbourne and seems to take forever, so it always means two trips to get the bloody thing fixed
