<Dan>
I know when we looked at Crown, their insurance was 3.7% vs doree who was 2%. Other companies we slightly cheaper for insurance (third party) but we didn't see the point of using a third party encase we needed to claim as it would all be sorted by one company. Guest Guest6235
Crown have not done as per their rates for us Dan, I don't know if it's because I haggled or what but they said they can do it for £150.

Guest Guest6235
"You must declare the full replacement value at destination of all the goods being shipped" The above was on a list of things on the insure your move website, can somebody explain what it means. Cheers Also you have to notify them of any claim within 14 days, which if you haven't a rental sorted and your gear is in storage then you could be snookered. I'm guessing most insurers are like this though. Edited October 1, 2014 by Guest6235

I'm guessing most insurers are like this though. It means you have to work out how much it would cost you to replace the goods in Australia (not the UK) so you will need to look on line and have a look at the cost of things to work it out. I think its standard to have the 14 day clause in there, but I would assume that it is after delivery so wouldnt matter if your stuff was stored as you wouldnt have received delivery of it yet, possibly worth asking someone the question though! Also make sure you check the small print for electrical cover and mildew, our insurance covered both, but the window to make a claim was even smaller if you wanted to claim on electrical appliances possibly only 7 days. Hope that helps! PS we used Letton Percival and claimed through them, they were fine (cant say great as I dont think any insurance company is!) and we were paid out.
