Might have to take a look and have a walk round there and randomly say hello as I walk past people, see what the response is. We used to say hello everytime we walked past people on the Burns beach to Iluka footpath but very rarely got a response. Now when we walk there I either say it very loudly so they have no option or keep quiet. A lot of women in there active wear (who don't look active) carrying a coffee.....

Remember hiking in the dales or the lake district everyone used to say hi.

When you wait in a shop to allow people through as the aisle is too narrow for both parties to fit through at once and you don't even get a smile or a thank you. When we say thanks for doing it they look shocked as if to say why are you saying thanks.

Don't forget the 4x2 and the SLK, it must be how you're judged on the type of house and car you have. Still, it'll get pranged, car jacked, broken into or just randomly dumped on the freeway.

Most of the time you can hear them ...... f ing and blinding. They're certainly not bothered at get togethers of saying the F word. It's quite hard to say do you mind not swearing when most are at it.

We went out to dinner the other night and my poor children were exposed to such shockingly explicit language from the group of adults next to us that we had to move. And they all had British accents.

I think we're judged on how we treat others, how we respect them and their views . I certainly don't have any issues with people being rude to me or ignoring me and I get no pleasure insulting others. You get back what you give in this world though.

The scoring forum of likes ...... say something against Perth and everyone jumps on it. Say something good, which I have many times and nobody batters an eyelid. ..... It sums it up by a the lurkers you never hear of getting their little neb in.....it's why it's not very balanced. I think there is only Verystormy who gives a balanced view........to Weedollys delight.

I don't see what car you've got has to do with anything. We could go and buy a spanking 4x4 if we wanted but we don't want to and if we did I wouldn't think of telling everyone, like it's some sort of trophy. We are not flash and certainly don't go boasting about what we have and what we haven't got.

Regarding the car jacking, I wouldn't wish that on anybody, especially after seeing what happened to that 19 year old in a Perth suburb last week, you read into that a bit too much.

YKYIP When a Mum straps her baby into their car seat to go shopping & by the time she gets to the shops she forgets she had a child and goes and does a full shop, meanwhile her child is distressed in 36° heat in the back of the car (Blame the ICE).Next thing you hear the police are letting it go. The truth is Arwen what a lot of people are putting on this thread could happen everywhere..... from being sunburnt through the window of a car and more recently robs comment of having disposable income. Try and research all these other comments by others as well. As well as here in Perth we had disposable income in England and more laid back. Pounce on these other comments also. Love the enthusiasm, enjoy the Pimms.

Try and research all these other comments by others as well. As well as here in Perth we had disposable income in England and more laid back. Pounce on these other comments also. I just wanted to post the link to the article on that one for balance as it wasn't some drugged up young woman but the child's Grandmother who perhaps wasn't used to taking the child shopping. While the outcome could have been catastrophic it seems in this case that she just made an awful mistake. I would have posted the link in response to any other poster, not just you.
