JasonM
We haven't done them yet and have sent ours off. Takes 3 months to get a case worker or so I am told
Keith
You can apply for your visa and then the case officer will request your meds and pc to be done, we did ours straight away once the app went in and we didn't hear from a case officer at all the visa was just granted! :smile2:
JasonM
I have just phoned up to get our medicals booked in, these cannot be done until you get an email requesting the medicals as you need an HAPI number. So it looks like a wait until you hear i am afraid as the lady i spoke to was quite clear that no medical can take place without it.
jomaniura
thanks for that, i sent off the application last night and paid that HUUUUUGE fee so i guess its a waiting game until we get contacted for the meds etc
HoneyJackMonster
I'm confused when I paid my visa fee I filled out the medical part of the online visa and was issued with the HAPI number which I then used to book and complete the medicals so I've done that and police checks before they have been requested by a CO. owen2k
We initially got invited for sponsorship for a 190 state sponsored Visa, and while we were going through the state part of that we got invited for a 189, we got our HAP IDs using the "my health declarations" part of the immi account before we applied for the visa, when we applied using the same immi account there was a question asking if we had done our health checks, we provided them with the HAP id's, the health checks are still processing but by the time we get a CO it should be submitted (fingers crossed) we haven't done our police checks yet but as I understand that only takes a few weeks and can do that between now and when we get a CO
LoopyLauren
ouchie, thats a fair whack to pay huh just for the medicals, thanks for the info did you have to go to london for the medicals or was you able to go local to where you lived in the uk? thanks again Hiya, WE got medicals booked for 8th jan. Managed to get in a place about 40 mins away form our home. Costing us almost £900, 2 adults and 2 kids. Mine was more than usual, as in healthcare. Robbing sods, when you can have all the tests free at a local sexual health clinic, if you have not already had the lot. Ah well xxx

owen2k
Do all those who are on the visa need to go to activate it, or only the main visa applicant, it's not so bad for us as we have had some job offers so hopefully we will get out there to stay before the 12 months, we have to sell the house though after the visa is granted that's the only sticking point. I'm guessing we could rent it but then it seems complicated with regards to tax and then trying to sell it from oz

I'm guessing we could rent it but then it seems complicated with regards to tax and then trying to sell it from oz yes owen2k i am wondering about this, as my previous post above... i also have a house thats been on the market for some years so i fear renting is my only option..i do have a friend though who maybe willing to rent my advise would be sell sell sell, as i have rented my house before '' to vetted people, references etc''and it is a nightmare...re not paying the rent and also not looking after the property properly, i rented mine out to a single dad (thought i would be ok but omg he used it as a party pad, there was all kinds living in it) then a family with 3 young kids...again thought this would be ok, omg how wrong could i have been, ie property riddled in mice due to dirty nappies being thrown in the garden !! yuk... so pls take my advice and get rid if u find out any info re the visa activation then pls share x
cutchibear
Hi @owen2k everyone who has a visa needs to go, not just the main applicant [emoji1]
jomaniura
i have had a reply on my pomsinoz post and been advised the following :- So long as you and your son still arrive by the activation deadline that's ok... your husband as the main applicant can enter first and alone.. but he will only be activating his visa. He cannot activate yours. If you fail to travel by the activation date you will pretty much forfeit your visas as far as I am aware.

JasonM
@jomaniura any news on your case worker ? still nothing for me and we sent off ours on the first week of December, starting to believe the agent now that they said it can take up to 3 months, i was kinda hoping that was flannel. As soon as we get the yes (once PC and Meds) i will be booking flights for July / Aug.

It'll give you a good idea of when you might be invited.
