Pregnant Poms in Perth

Jingles

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm 30, recently married and in the very early stages of my first pregnancy.

We moved to Perth in February 2013 and live in North Perth, although we'll be moving to Ellenbrook around March time when our new house is finished.

I am lucky and have a great network of Friends here, but none that are having or thinking of having children now and we don't have any family here either.

It would be great to meet some others in the same situation as us so we can support each other and share the experience.

We are delighted that I am pregnant, quite shell shocked but also a little apprehensive as we are going through this for the first time.

Also we haven't used the heath service at all here so the whole experience seems quite daunting at the moment.

If you are in the same situation feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the reply Nancy, Do you pay into a private health scheme, if you do I wonder if you would of had to pay gap fees or is care for all women having a baby free of charge?

Oh and congratulations, fun times ahead, we had our 1st child 15 months ago & it's hard but brill.

So in this instance you would of had to say Medicare & not private upon entering hospital, even if you had some sort of private health scheme I guess or can you not opt for Medicare if you have private health cover?
