Hi fowler, i went with an agent there is plenty on here, started off get my skill assessment, then Ielts then lodge for a 189 waited till case officer ask for medical and police checks did them end of November now just waiting. My visa is for me, fiance and little girl so I thought an agent would take the hassle. If your case is straight forward I would try yourself and save yourself some Money

Is that just western australia? I have had a look at indeed, seek and monster there does seem to be jobs going but is it the same as in the UK they get 100+ applyin? My plan was to go to some engineering company's and ask for jobs in person kind of put a face to the resume.

My OH emailed his CV to all the companies he could find within reasonable travelling distance to where we wanted to live. He got two job offers before we came out. This was 5 years ago, but being you have PR you are already one step ahead from lots who are trying to get sponsorship. Lots of machine shops don't advertise they just employ through word of mouth and from good old fashioned door knocking. Good luck.

Probably straight forward No kids ect? There are plenty of people on here that have done it themselves. For an agent your looking in the price region of 1-2k I think. Mine was about 1800 but then you have to pay do your visa medicals Ielts getting your skills certified it's not a cheap thing to do. So if you think you can do it on your own have a blast as you'll be saving plus if you get stuck with anything people on here are more than happy to help. Also you need to decide what visa to go for.

Hi, just wondering what the job market is like for the above preferably WA I have 13 yrs experience fully qualified. What chance do I have on securing employment with a soon to be (fingers crossed) 189 visa? Muchas gracias

Hi Mark, We at Industrial Recruitment Partners specialise in the blue collar / skilled trades market. We are constantly recruiting for Mechanical Fitters and HD Fitters and have a number of long term clients who we place people in to roles with. I can't promise anything before you arrive but it would be worth sending over your resume to service@irp.net.au or submit it via our website. There are still lots of roles available and we often fill the roles without the need to advertise so don't let that put you off if you aren't seeing job ads.

Best of luck Mark and give us a call when you have fixed up some dates to come out and work and we can see what we can to do to help? I assume you have done all the required skills assessments!?

Regards,

IRP (Luke)
