Hi all!! Been researching these areas as they are close to where I might be working. Seem to get a lot of house for your money! Anyone live there who can share their experience? How far is the beach? Is it a nice beCh close by? Any info on primary schools? Kindy? Play groups? Is there a surf club that runs nippers groups locally? Any other info for a family with young children would be fantastic!! Thanks xx

I live in Lakelands on the Meadow Springs border. Both Lakelands and Meadow Springs have new primary schools. Meadow Springs opened a few years ago, Lakelands yesterday ! They were ultimately cheaper as they didn't have schools and still don't have a public Highschool although Lakelands is due one in the next year or two. I think Meadow Springs & Lakelands kids go to North Mandurah which doesn't have a great reputation. Private schools are great however Freddie Irwins in Meadow Springs & Mandurah Baptist College in Lakelands. We now have a Doctors a fish and chip shop a great Chinese and a Dentist and Bottle Shop. Meadow Sorings also has more to the south with a Coles a Target take away hairdressers and a Red Rooster also another chain due to open. Lakelands has had approval for A pub /Restaurant , shops and takeaway and willsoon to be underway. A proposed Train Station too, at some point but not sure with this a lot of rumours. There is a playgroup in Lakelands and bound to be in Meadow Springs as its a lot bigger. Meadow Springs has a great Quarry Adventure Park that also does outdoor cinema. This is on the Lakelands border. The best way to describe Lakelands......you get a lot for your money and it's getting there....Meadow Springs great old and new. Meadow Springs and Lakelands are over the road from Madora Bay & San Remo beaches. san Remo has a brand new surf life saving club. Lots of good dog free and dog friendly beaches. The best bit for us is its proximity to Mandurah itself. 20 mins along a cycle path.

Thank you @Give me a break\! , really appreciate that info! It's likely I'll be working at peel health campus so these areas are nice and close for that! My kids will be 3 and 5 when we get there so by the time they are ready for high school there will be more to choose from, or we will go private if we can afford to! From what I've seen and heard, these places look really nice! So difficult to gauge what's nice without seeing first hand! This research really helps, info from folks like you "on the ground" is massively helpful! Thanks again!!

Hi bouncy think give me a break has said it all really! we're in Lakelands been here 4 months and love it. Very quiet but good proximity to places- beach is a 20 min walk if you want to go to old Madora bay, or a few mins drive to the new surf club- great cafe there! Son goes to Freddie's and settled really well, I also work at peel health campus and cycle when it's not too hot- only a 10km bike ride now I have worked out the shortcuts! hubby works nearer the City. Can bike into Mandurah or beyond! lovely coastal rides. Only thing is buses not great don't run after 6pm actually in Lakelands but more frequently if you walk closer to the main road. 10 mins from Mandurah st by car, been told the train st at Lakelands is a long way off but quoted as 'coming soon' by developers! We would consider buying here when we are ready to as so good for school and work! On another note what will you be doing at the health campus?

I drive through Meadow Springs every day to Frederick Irwin school. It's a nice area; still growing so I believe there's a lot of strain on the primary school. It's based around a golf course but doesn't look as pretty driving through the estate as it could have been (you don't get many opportunities to see green space unless you live overlooking it). The Quarry Park is amazing though and they have free open air cinemas there in the summer evenings.

@Give Me A Break do you know if there's another primary planned? Info for the OP not for me :cute:

As I said Lakelands primary has opened on Monday as was expected to take a big number from Meadow Springs. I have seen plans for one near Kawloons Chinese ( Opposite I think ) but there are a lot of proposed that doesn't happen as you know.
