Dano169
Hi, I have just had to get one myself was a lot easier for me as I work for my dad, even though I was worried about telling him I wanted to move to Australia he was really good about it and very helpful. All I can say is you will need to get it so best try and speak to someone and try to get sorted.
cocolevi
Hi I need to get a letter from my employer containing the following details: 1. Company letterhead (including name and location details) 2. Date of document 3. Name and status of author 4. Dates and duration of employment 5. Title of position occupied. I work for a large company. Does anyone have any tips? I am reluctant to say anything about moving. thanks Is there a hr department that you can talk to in confidence for the documents
drhebden
Had to do the same and was also worried at first but just went directly through our HR department who issued me with an employee reference letter. Never stated what for and never had to - large companies deal with this daily so should be okay.

LoopyLauren
Yes, I would suggest HR. They should be very used to supplying them. They usually will just put facts, dates of employment etc etc.
JenPen
I have this issue too - I think I will try HR to begin with but I am pretty sure mine has to be done by my manager - soooooooo arrrrgh! especially as only on fixed term contract until Nov so if they get wind or want to they can not renew it
drhebden
Hi Scotty, I just fired an email to our employee services department and asked for letter of reference for employment. That was it really, no drama - emailed back within 48 hours or so with standard letter. That was a year ago now and no-one was any the wiser internally until I announced I was leaving at start of year. Guess it depends how big your organisation is and if they adhere to confidentiality standards...
