Chauhan5
Hi all My family and I (my wife Indi and I are mid 40's with 3 teenagers, 2 boys aged 16,14 and my daughter who is 13), we emigrated to Perth in Jan 2015 from Leicester, we are currently renting in Sorrento, all our kids go to Duncraig Senior High. As we are new here in Perth, we are struggling a bit with making friends as both Indi and I are out of work, I am following a suggestion put to me to see if it works...... We are looking to meet others from the UK and hopefully make some new friends, so if any one is up for a gathering/bit of a BBQ and a few drinks, may be play some sports etc or just chill!, come and join us on Saturday 4th April at 2:00pm at Mawson Park22 Mawson Crescent, Hillarys, near the BBQs. Hopefully see you there. Chan & Indi P.S. open for other suggestions if the date or venue is not suitable.

They often meet up coffee mornings, nights out & holiday meets, give them a go [emoji2]

Edna
Hi Chauhun How did the BBQ go? Sorry we could not make it, but would defo like to meet up when we finally make it over. Its a very kind thing to do, opening up your home to others like this. If I was over I would have have brought along a home cooked massive pot of Jalfrezi curry with mini garlic naan breads. 2 curries, one would have been a fire cracker after burner and the other mild for the faint hearted. And a case of beer too.
Chauhan5
Hi the BBQ was in a local park.... no one actually turned up but we had a good time, was a bit of a long shot, especially as it was the Easter weekend. We did make some spicy and some not so spicy indian chicken to share, firecraker and beer, sounds like a winning combo to me!
The Brownsx5
Oh Chauhan5, what a bummer [emoji30]. Hopefully you'll find friends soon maybe give the groups above a try. My hubby's FIFO so he's not always around for family meets and my kids are at the age 18b, 15b &12g the boys would rather sit @ home or meet up with school friends. In the groups there's always meets and we @ life begins @ 40ish try to get together @ Mullaloo during school hols and it sounds like it might be worth keeping an eye on it as we have kids from 18 (when I can get him there lol) to 6 and there a few boys 16 -14. Might be worth a starting point

JenPen
We would def meet up although we might be too young for you in our early 30's haha!! I'm joking (most of our friends here are late 30's and early 40's) anyway I hope the next date goes better - will see you in sept/oct when we have arrived
Lou8670
That's such a shame. It was a difficult date being the long weekend. I've organised a few meet ups on here and as we have young children I've always arranged them in parks. A central location in Perth along the river or Fremantle was quite popular. PPs could come from North and South of the River. Hope you're able to arrange another and next time a few families turn up [emoji1]
