JenPen
Hello - I know this is a bit late but - did you put Jeyes Fluid in your washing machine first to kill off smells and stuff before drying it out!?? Thanks Also - shoes? I remember travelchic asking this but I can't remember the outcome and I can't find the thread - do you have to make these spotless?? Jeyes again? cocolevi
I'm sure I've seen somewhere Yes for spotless shoes, not sure on the washing machine though :cute:xx
katesunflower
we just wiped the washing machine with jeyes. we where told shoes have to be spotless, I spent hours washing them and then sprayed with jeyes. This is the worst part of moving, once the container has gone its all much calmer. Good luck x

Ok thanks lovely and thanks for the good luck - yes can't wait for the container to go I am fed up of all this now haha! Xx They did make me clean my shoes on the plane, well just off it! I landed in the middle of the night once, I was escorted to a clinical room, given a brush and cleaning fluids and told to clean my shoes. Wasn't a great experience, but glad it was in my pre kid days! Good luck with the planning and packing!
JenPen
Haha omg I've been 3 times and never had to clean my shoes wow!!! They're coming again in a few months to take the rest of our stuff so think I'll keep shoes behind and clean them for that stage as don't have time now as I'm working xx

Tigerbalm
I read on the AQiS website that generally speaking stains on shoes don't count as dirt. I put shoes through the washing machine then scrubbed and scrubbed but some of them are definitely not spotless! Still it's too late now, my shippers have taken them today! I'm hoping that they will be too overwhelmed by the jeyes fluid fumes to notice on the other side!

JenPen
Do you mind me asking why you are shipping things over in two seperate times? Yes sure that wasn't clear; moving in with inlaws so they're packing up our house weds and thurs except for toys/toy boxes, printer etc kids bikes, some clothes and my sons bed! They're then going to keep it in storage until we go - hopefully August (or later if req) and just before shipping it all they're coming to MIL's to collect the rest [emoji38] amazing!! Lou8670
They do ask when you land if you have shoes soiled in mud etc etc. I took this to mean not just the shoes in your suitcase [emoji6]

Lou8670
is this new ? or because you are staying for good ? never been asked when visiting for a holiday They ask everyone on the incoming passenger card. I ticked most things. My sons rugby boots were in the suitcase. They had been scrubbed but just in case I ticked the box for anything with soil attached...number 9 Edited April 4, 2015 by Lou8670
annjean
I know a few times on return to oz they ask if you have been on a farm recently and if yes they take your shoes away must spray them and then give them back, they been doing this for years that I know of.
