Hi

We hope to be moving to Perth mid 2016 from the UK and have been looking at areas to start off. We are a family of 4... Becoming 5 in a few months time and are looking for a family friendly area that is also close to work for my husband who is a carpenter.

We have looked into Wanneroo a lot and like what we see on google street view but would like to know if anyone has any views on this area... Housing, Parks, schools work etc...

Naturally we would also be interested in surrounding areas too

any info would be gratefully received.

Thanks!

My advice would be to look at somewhere central rather than getting sucked into the northern suburbs. The northern suburbs are very popular with British immigrants, but, personally, i have never understood why.

Until, he has a job, it is difficult to say where would be best in the long term as Perth is very spread out and Wanneroo would not be great if he was travelling to Mandurah or the southern suburbs. And visa versa. Hence, why i recommend somewhere more central to start.

Thanks for the info, my husband travels a lot here in the UK so that wouldn't bother him, and we would only rent to start off with until we found out feet and knew where most the work was.

Is there anywhere you would recommend? Obviously we would like family areas and not too close to central Perth

Any info you could advise would be great! Thanks for replying Verystormy.

HI,

Im moving to Perth in the July of this year. We booked a hotel for two weeks initially. Will we be able to find a one bed room or a studio appartment somewhere near Cbd or UWA within that time frame or do u recommend making a longer booking for hotel. We are a family of 3 people people. And do owners over there have some preference of not giving their houses to ppl with kids Cuz my daughter is only 2 and a half years old right now
