ali
There is no limit on the amount of cash that may be brought into or taken out of Australia. However, where $10,000 in Australian currency or a foreign currency equivalent is involved, the cash must be declared to a Customs and Border Protection officer and the appropriate form completed. Penalties apply for the failure to declare. http://www.customs.gov.au/faq/Currency.asp ETA - depending on exchange then 5,000 Pounds is just over $10,000 Edited April 11, 2015 by ali
Druid
$10,000.00 is the limit, after that you have to declare it, then you get the ten questions to make sure you are not a drug smuggler
