Has anyone used an online solicitor for conveyancing??

Recommended Posts

Have sold our house and received a quote of £900 from a local solicitor that we have used before. Hubby has found some co's online that will do the whole thing for roughly half the cost, but I am a tad nervous. Has anyone else used a firm they found on the internet & how do I go about researching if they're kosher??

TIA, Jackie

We looked at 2 online agents Purple bricks who under valued our property by 25k and Tepilo who over valued it by 25k, although it is very tempting to save a bit of money we beat a local estate agent down to 1% of the sale price, they also did all the viewings which was stressful enough without having to do the viewings yourself. Also I didn't like the idea of paying up front with no guarantees, at least with an estate agent you pay them nothing unless they sell it. Horses for Courses I guess. conveyance is the solicitors, I would phone around a few of your local solicitors as I got it 1/2 the price of some online ones and you can pop in and drop stuff off if needed.

What ever you choose I hope it all goes well.

J19jjr we use Motley and Hope in Biggleswade, maybe worth a call you never know they may do yours for that price also, our estate agent was over the moon when we said who we picked as they have good experience of working with them.

they have done a cracking job so far and kept us informed of everything so far.

When you are considering purchasing or selling a property it is important to find a solicitor as soon as possible to instigate proceedings promptly after an offer on a property has been accepted. However, there are many high street solicitors who offer the service and increasingly there are many online licensed conveyancer services available to facilitate the process of buying or selling property, but with so much choice it can be difficult to know who to instruct and how reputable they are
