Hi Steely ( if your still on the forum )

Wondering how the move has gone?. We are expecting our email to start the ball rolling. Our house is for sale  and someone interested. All a little close for comfort on the timing but that was always a risk. Next few months will sort our lives out one way or the other. Hope you have settled in and loving the life.

Hi Geoff,

Still on the forum, mainly reading these days, but saw this come through.

its hard to take in we have been out here 16 months already, and loving every second of it!

i got a job within days, lots of Australian travel included, which for a newbie is brilliant too!  Karen wasn't so lucky and still isn't working, but to be honest, we don't need her income to survive right now.  Age and being overqualified are the main reasons for not getting a position.

work life balance is superb, so much to see and do.

Hi Steely

I hope you are enjoying Australia and Congratulations for getting your Ca143 visa granted! :)

Just wanted to ask a question

How much time does the department give you to pay the 2nd instalment of the Ca143 visa.

Thanks

Brett

Hi Brett

Can't see you have had a reply to the time needed for the second vac. I would appreciate any info on that too. Our house  is paying the second vac and slow progress on the sale.

I have been told that Centrelink are taking around 12 weeks to process the AOS and one contact I have in another forum has said she has been waiting two months for the case officer to request her second vac after it has all been finalised, therefore could be anything between 4-8 months from when case officer appointed but than what if is whizzes through ???  Again I was told that when the funds are requested they give you just 28 days to pay but an extension "may" be allowed . They don't make it easy to plan . I am getting a little stressed about the dilemma of it all !   Can't moan I suppose as on all the forms it says you should have the total funds available before applying but realistically not many people have £60k in the petty cash box.  ( not up north anyway )

I am hoping to chat to our agent for as much info as possible to try and plan the finances , I will relay any information I get to you.
