Done my Apprenticeship with Doosan Babcock worked in a large fabrication workshop with them as well as a pharmaceutical plant and energy plant. Worked for BAE Systems building the QEC Aircraft carrier in Govan and Rosyth. Last job was with Petrofac building their flagship Gas Plant on the Shetland Islands. Rossmoyne Posted November 8, 2015 Report Share Posted November 8, 2015 RF104, totally get where you are coming from, but you will find that on the whole, employers in Oz will not take on someone on a WHV unless they are in the hospitality or farming industry. You can only work for an employer for 6 months in total, and that scares off a lot of employers. Be prepared to take on anything to earn $. I suggest you look at the agencies offering casual positions in absolutely anything you feel you can do. A google will bring up many agencies. Good Luck!! scuffythetugboat Posted November 8, 2015 Report Share Posted November 8, 2015 I did work in Perth with a pipefitter on a WHV back in 2012 when there was a lot of work around.
