Nutnudger
I don't belive that the UK games will work on and xbox purchased in Australia, I belive its a regional thing like with DVDs could be be wrong tho

welljock
Notwithstanding the regional games, I would buy in Australia, if anything goes wrong it would be almost impossible to get a replacement for a UK bought machine. A quick look at the price would suggest with the exchange rate they are a little bit cheaper in WA. You can get the 500GB version for $499 or the 1TB with Halo 5 for $519 at the moment. Edit: Another (dis)advantage of buying in WA would be he could get it as soon as he got here, rather than waiting until the container arrived. portlaunay
Keep hold of your console and games though. You'll be able to trade the whole lot in at EB Games when you get here, they won't care that it's a UK device.

Their website says it has to be an Australian device, I know that may not be the case if it was taken in but you could easily trade it in at Game or something before leaving to be safe.
